The Hammer™
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hand Held Device Purges Digital Data on Multiple Hard Drives
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The compact Hammer enables a secure erase command capable of purging digital data on
up to 4 hard drives simultaneously, or link with USB hubs to manage dozens of drives.
Secure Erase is a native feature of The Hammer™, ensuring uninterrupted erasure of all data stored on
the media. In the event an attached drive does not support the secure erase command, data will be
completely overwritten by automatically calling the embedded version of CPR Tools' award winning
BangDisk™ utility. This ensures compliance with NIST 800-88 and 800-36 guidelines for data 'purging'.
Sector-by-sector cloning:
Once each connected device is erased, automatic partitioning and formating, or cloning from a pre-
determined 'master disk' can take place, making a sector-by-sector clone from one attached drives to the
other three.

Once started, SECURE ERASE will complete, even if interrupted by disconnecting power. Once
SECURE ERASE has been initiated, the drive is not usable until it completes. In the event the drive
is connected to a host system before SECURE ERASE finishes, the host will not recognize the
drive, thereby keeping prying eyes away from any remaining user data. Restarting the Hammer™
will complete the process after interruption.
The Hammer™ is a one step tool that will erase all user data from up to four (4) drives and prepare
those drives for immediate redeployment.
The Hammer™ can be automatically configured to format the drives immediately after erasure.
Use the Hammer to rollout new operation system to multiple workstations.
Audit Trail
Maintaining rigorous records for data 'cleaning' or 'purging' is essential. The Hammer™ is
equipped with non-volatile RAM (NVRAM) on board, which tracks device activity. This data can then
be transferred to a host PC through the USB 2.0 port. Audit trails can be printed or stored.
Regulatory Compliance:
The Hammer™ meets or exceeds data elimination requirements of:
NIST 800-88 'Purge' and 'Clean'
HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act)
Patriot Act of 2002
Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA
